Cascade Brewing 5th Anniversary Celebration

Cascade Brewing Barrel House Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

with Five-Day Celebration, 10 Vintage Sours on Tap

PORTLAND, Ore. – In the fall of 2010, the Cascade Brewing Barrel House opened to the public at 939 SE Belmont St. Known as the “House of Sour,” it featured 18 taps from which to pour its relatively new Northwest sour style ales.

This fall, the Barrel House will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a five-day celebration. From October 6 to October 10, the brewery will offer 10 vintage beers from its early years. Each day at opening, the pub will serve two vintage beers from the cellar (1/4 bbl kegs), which will remain on tap until they run out.

Look for the following beers during the course of the event (exact schedule to be finalized): ’08 Sang Noir, ’08 Apricot, ’09 Vlad, ’09 Vine, ’09 Sang Royal, ’09 Kriek, ’09 Bourbonic Plague, ’09 Blackberry, ’09 Sang Rouge & ’09 Noyaux. All vintage products will be served in four-ounce servings for $5.

There will also be a special anniversary toast and tapping of Cherry Bourbon Double Red – a replica of the very first LIVE barrel – with Cascade Brewing founder Art Larrance and Brewmaster Ron Gansberg on Friday, 10/9 at 6pm.

Executive chef Troy Harris will offer a selection $5 food specials all week. Rare vintage bottles will be available for sale, and the public can take souvenir photos with the House of Sour wooden barrel.
