Local Breweries go Belgian: 2012 Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers

Saturday, April 21st , the 6th Annual Portland’s Cheers to Belgian Beers Festival will be held at Metalcraft Fabrication at 723 N Tillamook St. from noon-9pm. This year there are over 50 entrants including some of the local big guns, Hopworks, Laurelwood, Lompoc, Lucky Lab, Mcmenamins, and Widmer, as well as brewers from around the metro area and around Oregon.
This festival/competition uses a unique way of selecting what style Belgian beer each brewery will make – by throwing a dart. Where the dart lands determines if they brew a dark or light, and how high the alcohol must be. The full list of Breweries, and details can be found on the Oregon Brewer’s Guild page.

[Update:] With more than 1600 people in attendance this year the turnout was great. Over 675 votes were cast, and for the 2nd year in a row Logsdon Organic Farmhouse Ales was the People’s choice with the Cerasus entry.
