Everything You Wanted to Know about BiKETOBEERFEST

Bikes, Beer & Live Music Event Benefits Bicycle Transportation Alliance and Friends of Trees

Nothing sums up the culture and spirit of Portland like local craft beer, bikes and live music.  And all of those are coming together at Hopworks Urban Brewery’s BiKETOBEERFEST on Saturday, August 11.

BiKETOBEERFEST is a family-friendly, bike-in Oktoberfest celebrating Portland’s bike culture. The event features 15 organic Hopworks beers, local bands, bicycle-themed entertainment, bike builder demonstrations, BMX stunt riders, a kids’ bouncey house and the famous “Huffy Huck” bike toss competition.

BikeToBeerFest is taking place at Hopworks Urban Brewery, located at 2944 SE Powell Blvd. and runs from 2 to 10 p.m.  HUB is closing the parking lot and encouraging everyone to ride their bikes to the event. For more information, please see www.BiKETOBEERFEST.com

Ride Your Bike

BiKETOBEERFEST is a car-free event.

Portland Bike Tours is leading two group rides from Hopworks Bike Bar, 3947 N. Williams Ave. [map]

RIDE #1 – Leaves at 3:00 from the back patio
RIDE #2 – Leaves at 6:00 from the back patio

These are slow-paced group rides. Please ensure your bike is in good working order before joining the ride. Helmets are required.

GETTING THERE BY BIKE

Powell is a busy road. Cross with extreme caution at a light. 26th Ave. has a light and you may ride respectfully up the sidewalk to get there. Check out this cool map that a bike+beer fan put together with suggested routes for getting to Hopworks.

Ample unattended bike parking is provided. Bring your lock so you can lock up your bike. Bike parking closes at 10:00pm.
