Ambacht Brewing

Hillsboro, OR • www.ambacht.us

Barrel Aged Honey Triple/Belgian Specialty

1.072 OG, 1.008 FG, 8.60% ABV, 18 IBU

Organic Classification: 70-94%

This is Ambacht’s Bourbon barrel aged honey triple made from all organically grown malts and organic hops from Goschie Farms. They used honey instead of candi sugar to add a degree of complexity and then aged the beer for three months in Bourbon barrels acquired from Hair of the Dog (their Adam was stored for over two years in these barrels). They chose to use these “tempered” barrels because it brought the level of Bourbon down to where it balanced nicely with the Honey Triple.  See if you can detect all the flavor notes in this one-of-a-kind beer.

Reggae Junkie Gruit is a hopless beer that uses a blend of lemongrass, hyssop, bitter orange peel and Sichuan peppercorns instead. The base is a light saison made with all organic malts and flaked spelt. Its botanical mix gives the beer a pleasant and complex nose while also providing an invigorating tonic-like quality, even in small doses.

Brother Nature/Pale Ale

1.057 OG, 1.011 FG, 6.10% ABV, 38 IBU

Organic Classification: 70-94%

Made specifically for the NAOBF, this interpretation of a classic pale ale features a twist to this traditional style. The addition of flaked oats to the mash and organic granola to the fermenter results in a crisp, slightly dry pale ale with a grainy, nutty-like finish.
